Then enjoy 5 relaxing days at sea as you cruise “North to Alaska”. You can relax in the “Spa Carnival”SM, dine in the gourmet Supper Club at the top of the ship, or try your luck in the casino. You will arrive in Vancouver and dock right in the heart of the old town at Canada Place, full of quaint shops and brick-lined streets. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you cruise out of the Bay and begin your Inside Passage cruise to Alaska. The first port in Alaska is Juneau. Unlike any other state capital in the nation, it is accessible only by sea or air, and it has Mendenhall Glacier within the city limits. A trip to the glacier is a must do! Your next day is spent cruising to magnificent tidewater glaciers – some towering 200 feet above the waterline. Marvel at spectacular scenery, including the snow-capped Fairweather Range. Glide through Glacier Bay, a wonderland of glaciers, mountains, wildlife and amazing natural beauty, unlike any place on Earth. Then on to the little town of Skagway, gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush. Many tours are available here, but perhaps the most famous is the "Scenic Railway of the World", Skagway’s famous White Pass & Yukon Railroad. You can purchase a tour to experience the breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, trestles and historic sites from the comfort of vintage parlor cars. Your final port in Alaska is Ketchikan, one of Alaska’s most unique communities! Here the rugged beauty of the Alaskan wilderness mixes comfortably with a thriving business community located in the Tongass National Forest and close to Misty Fjords National Monument. They have the best of both worlds, the mountains and the sea. This is the place for that fishing excursion, if you were planning one, or just stop by the local café and order their halibut fish and chips. It is delightful, fresh from the ocean onto your plate. You will be sad to leave Alaska but luckily you have one more day of cruising the Inside Passage; keep your eyes open for pods of whales, remote Indian fishing villages and eagles circling over verdant forests. “Aloha",(Farewell) Today you will clear customs and immigration in Vancouver and disembark. We at Cruise Destinations highly recommend a balcony stateroom for Alaska & Hawaii cruising. You will always be glad you upgraded your stateroom on this cruise. An optional Vancouver hotel package is available. |
